- Rabbi Nota Schiller
A founder of Ohr Somayach, Rabbi Schiller is presently one of it's deans. He is a graduate of the
Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, and has been writing
and lecturing throughout the Jewish world for the past thirty
years. He is accredited with being one of the visionary leaders
of the Baal Teshuva movement. The topics of his lectures deal
with ethical and philosophic issues relevant in our daily lives.
- Rabbi Mendel Weinbach
A graduate of the famous Torah
Vodaath Yeshiva in New York, Rabbi Weinbach, a founder and presently
one of the deans of Ohr Somayach, has been mentor, father and
leader to generations of Ohr Somayach students around the world.
A prolific author and international lecturer he is an inspiration
and advisor to many Jewish leaders. Rabbi Weinbach offers brilliant
insights into topics of Jewish thought and practice.
- Rabbi Nachman Bulman Z'tl
Rabbi Bulman Z'tl was recognized as one of the leading Jewish thinkers and writers
of our generation. He was Dean of Students at Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem for over 25
years and had been at the forefront of Jewish education in Israel and America for
close to five decades. His brilliant lectures inspired, energized and instilled a
desire to learn more.
- Rabbi Dr. Dovid Gottlieb
Having received his Ph.D. at Brandeis University, Rabbi Gottlieb went on to become Professor
of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University. Today he is a senior
faculty member at Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem. An accomplished author
and lecturer, Rabbi Gottlieb has electrified audiences with his
stimulating and energetic presentations on ethical, moral and
philosophical issues.
- Rabbi Dovid Kaplan
Rabbi Kaplan, originally from
Chicago attended Northeastern University and received his rabbinical
ordination in Jerusalem. He has lectured widely in Israel and
America and is presently a senior lecturer in the Carla Schoen
Institute of Ohr Somayach Jerusalem. His modern, streetwise approach
to clarifying Jewish issues is an inspiration to people around
the world.
- Rabbi Yeruchum Uziel Milevsky Zt'l
Born in Uruguay, Rabbi Milevsky
received his doctorate in education and his ordination from Ner
Israel Rabbinical College. He served as Chief Rabbi of Mexico
and was for many years a senior lecturer at Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem.
In 1989 he was appointed dean of Ohr Somayach Toronto lecturing
to a wide range of audiences in the Metro area. Rabbi Milevsky's
series of dynamic lectures based on the 613 Mitzvot and on the
Torah portion of the week is an immense aid to the listener in
broadening his scope of Torah knowledge.
- Rabbi Mordechai Perlman
A graduate of the Mir Yeshiva
in Jerusalem, Rabbi Perlman is a senior lecturer in Talmud, Bible
and Jewish law at the central campus of Ohr Somayach. He has compiled
a series of popular traditional songs and "How to" tapes
covering the full Jewish cycle. His series on the Torah portion
of the week offers the listener profound insights in Chumash.
- Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Rabbi Tatz studied medicine at the University
of the Witwatersrand and completed military service in the South African Army as
a medical officer. He studied for 7 years at Ohr Somayach in Israel while practicing
medicine in Jerusalem. He was one of the most sought after lecturers in South Africa
where he attracted hundreds weekly to his public lectures at Ohr Somayach in Johannesburg.
He was a senior lecturer at Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem and serves today as a senior
lecturer at the Jewish Learning Exchange of Ohr Somayach in London. An accomplished writer,
Rabbi Tatz is the author of the highly acclaimed volumes Anatomy of a Search,
Living Inspiredand Worldmask.
- Rabbi Mordechai Becher
Originally from Australia, Rabbi Becher is a graduate of the Itri and Mishkan HaTorah
Yeshivot of Jerusalem. An accomplished author, he was a senior lecturer at Ohr Somayach
in Thornhill, Canada and a lecturer at the Carla Schoen Institute of Ohr Somayach
Jerusalem. His lectures on popular issues tackles vital questions of our modern society.
