Mechina

THE OHR SOMAYACH MECHINA PROGRAM is a new initiative that offers motivated students of all backgrounds the ability to develop their textual skills in a Yeshiva environment. The interactive classes are led by highly experienced, caring staff with the goal of your achieving self-sufficiency in learning, in understanding Jewish texts.

IN THE MORNING, you will study in small talmud groups where you will develop your vocabulary, reading skills and textual analysis in order to reach proficiency and independence in Talmud study. In addition you will gain an understanding of the breadth and depth of the Talmud and its many commentaries. The daily Chumash classes will ensure that you learn the key concepts in the weekly parsha with insights from Rashi and in halalcha you will study the practical aspects of Jewish living.

THE AFTERNOON PROGRAM allows for small workshops in a broad range of subjects. At the initial stage, the program also allows students to take advantage of the philosophy track of the Shoresh Program. A Biblical Ulpan is one of the highlights of the program and will give you the ability to read and translate Chumash for yourself. Private tutors are arranged to assist each student in his learning and what's more serve as a big brother and mentor.

WE ARE located on the Ohr Somayach campus in Jerusalem within walking distance of the Old City, Western wall, and the city center. Full room and board are provided and Shabbos meals will be arranged. Tuition will be considered on a personal basis.

THE WARM RELATIONSHIP that the students have with their Rebbeim will assure that all students' needs are attended to on a personal level. These relationships are ones that will stay with you for life.
