A strong connection exists between learning the Land and loving the Land. The more we know about the cities and sites of Eretz Yisrael and the people whose lives were connected with it, the more we learn to love the Land. When we reflect upon the praise of the Land found in the Torah, Talmud, and Midrash, our love grows for a land so beloved to the Creator and to His beloved people.

This section of Love of the Land offers a blend of information on the names of the Land and their significance, historical background on the places and people, and a selection of praises of the Land found in our sacred sources.

It is our hope that readers will gain from the words and photographs in this section a greater understanding of the Land, which will increase their love for it.
