The Color of HeavenArtscroll

Are you interested in delving into the intricacies and depths of Jewish thought?

Are you ready to tackle Talmud, Chumash (Torah text) and other Jewish classics, with the aim of acquiring language and textual skills (and timeless Jewish wisdom)?

Are you excited about the opportunity to live in Jerusalem and to experience growing in your Jewishness in this unique and historical environment?

Mechina is a two-tiered program catered for intelligent and motivated students who are ready to devote a period of time to achieve these goals in a warm and non-judgemental environment. The program is divided into two levels:

  • Level One – combines classes given by famed lecturers Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb, Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz, Rabbi Dovid Kaplan, Rabbi Guy Matalon and others, with user-friendly courses on introductory level Gemara, Mishna and Chumash. Tutorials are also available at various times during the day.

  • Level Two – focuses on achieving independence in Gemara and Rashi translation and analysis. Classes are highly interactive. There are also classes on Jewish Law, Hebrew grammar, Navi (the Prophets) and Chumash. Tutorials are also available.

Students on both levels have the opportunity to enhance their learning by studying privately with a Rabbi or advanced Yeshiva student.

The Mechina Program is individualized - Students can join at any time of the year, and can stay for as little or as long as they'd like. Occasional educational and fun tours around Israel are offered throughout the year. Scholarships are available.
